It looks like the Democrats won enough seats to take a majority in both the House and Senate next year. Do they have any real plans to fix the problems of American domestic and foreign policy? No, but they aren't Republicans, so maybe that means something.
No, no it doesn't. Be honest.

The Republican party deserved to lose, no question about that. However, what have the Democrats done for liberty in our lifetimes? Precious little for some, and nothing for most. Their idea of "freedom" is more centralized power for government, especially the federal level, to manage our lives. They just want to do it a little differently from the Republicans in a few surface details, too. Both want a pervasive police state growing every year into more and more of our lives, they just disagree over what non-crimes it needs to punish first.
However, this might also mean Trump will face real challenges in his wars abroad and police state abuses at home. Gridlock is perhaps the least-bad form of government, where one party holds the Executive reins and the other the Legislative. The need to posture ensures better adherence to principles.
The next Republican questions will be whether Trump makes it to the end of his second term, and whether Vance will make a play for the Presidency. We have a couple months of Lame Duck Session yet to go before the elected are sworn in. Will the Republicans recognize this is their last chance to make real changes, or let it slip as they continue to bicker back and forth over nothingness? Unfortunately, unless the lame ducks get together and act, this is the end of any hope for federal gun control deregulation, but at least the Democrats might—might—make some progress on the Epstein files and demand an end to war. That said, they're far from innocent when it comes to their own sex scandals and militarism. They'll have to do something, but it will likely be as little as possible, and as soon as possible, before resuming a status quo of cancerous governmental growth in control.
Two years from now, I have no idea who will run for either party. If current Vice President J.D. Vance runs, and nothing changes, he is likely to lose. He screwed his libertarian-leaning supporters over and over by knuckling under at every turn despite being the only person Trump couldn't fire. If someone like California Governor Gavin Newsom runs, we'll see the Democrats suddenly fall in love with a rich career politician who trampled the rights of every Californian over COVID in 2020, because donkey logo is good. If someone like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez runs, at least it won't be an old rich Gen X, it'll be a stupid Millennial, so progress? Not really.
If you were on board the Trump train in 2024, I get it. He talked in a way one could interpret as less belligerent and militaristic. He talked about the need for free trade and less taxation. But he spent two years and literally trillions of dollars actively creating chaos, and way too many of y'all said, "Do whatever the heck you want, because I voted for this!" As a result, we got more of the moral rot growing government always brings no matter which party has the figurehead office. Are you ready to stop playing politics and start building a real future, or will you keep on spending time, money, and your life itself on these games for power?
If you have been against Trump since 2020, is it the man himself, his party, or the office he wants to occupy? The man and his party I can't address, but I can help you question the office itself. Are you ready to let go of the party and stand on principle instead? Or has this victory locked you into another cycle of election fever once again?
