I like to walk around in parks and take photos of the nature and the industry. This summer I took a trip to Theodore-Wirthe Park west of Minneapolis, MN in the US. There is a nice biking path which travels through the park. In fact, the city (and the surrounding suburbs) have a network of paved bike / hiking trails open to the public.
On this particular day, it had been raining in the morning, and a lot of the ground was flooded. Most of central and Eastern Minnesota is swamp land, while the western side is entirely prairies. It's interesting living on the border of two very different worlds. Swampy areas tend to flood more, and the flatter plains are frigid in the winter.
Along the way I saw a few animals, some squirrels which I wasn't able to get close enough to, a few butterflies, and a lot of birds. A couple birds happened to sit still long enough for me to get a few good shots of them.
