Medium: watercolor

A rendition of Johannes Vermeer's painting.

Last post I had made a sketch so now, following up with a painting!

  1. Sketch
  2. First layer of light tones
  3. Midtones
  4. Shadows
  5. Leave out method for highlights and thick white watercolor for eye shine

Was it challenging? Definitely. But in the end I am satisfied.

Until I do the background.. lol

My friend told me how dark backgrounds in watercolor is a nightmare. Now I know. It was totally difficult for me.

Finished! What do you think?
If you ask me, it is okay but not what I expected. If I had a chance I would have redrawn it and did a trial but what can I do. Lesson learned.
