Do you ever see something that reminds you of way back? Well... for those of us that have a "way back"....LOL.. but do you ever see something that reminds you of a time when your youth took you to different places, doing different things?

I sometimes see things like these vintage blow-mold outdoor party lights. We used to have some outside in the summer when we had picnics and bonfires for weiner roasts or just around the back patio for enjoying a late summer evening. They made for such a fun atmosphere.

Sometimes when I see something that flashes me back like that, I decide I need one... or some.... I just need to experience them again. That is how it was with this string of outdoor party lights (or sometimes known these days as RV lights, because a lot of campers used them when camping). I don't know where or how I saw them, but next thing you know I was on Ebay, hunting up a set for myself. Like many vintage things these days, people wanted WAY too much for them if they were still in good shape, but I shopped and waited till I only paid too much, but not a fortune...LOL !!!!

Anyway, I bought a set and can't wait to use them this summer. Fun ! Fun ! Fun ! ...with a little bit of nostalgia.

Today I worked and for some of my hours I didn't have to answer phones. When that happens, I usually stream music from my Alexa. I just LOVE having all that music available. So today, I asked to hear music by Carly Simon. I have never requested that before. Of course nearly all the songs were familiar to me, so I listened and sometimes sang along while I worked.

One song's name is Anticipation and part of the words are "these are the good old days".... so of course my mind ponder that once again. The days of youth and endless energy and sometimes being in love.... innocently. I thought about when I was dating my first husband (I had two, but not at the same time ha ha).....and I remembered my teen self sitting under the redbud tree in the front yard of my home, writing the words to some Bobby V songs and putting my boyfriend's name in all the right places and..... thinking that there was nothing in the world that could ever come between us. Our love was so strong.... nothing could ever tear us apart !

You can only imagine the times since then I have just shook my head, quietly smiled and thought about how naive I was.... .but still.... for a while, those were the good old days.

Sitting there working in my 65 year old body, feeling the same on the inside as I ever did, vibrant, curious, mostly content, it was just a good feeling.

I never intend to live a lot of my life in the past, because there is still MUCH good left to be had and experience, but it is still fun to have all those memories to revisit from time to time and smile.... or sing !

So for now the lights are just hanging around on the coat rack, waiting for a summer event or just a warm happy evening to light up my heart once more.

... afterwards, maybe old-girl will come in and play a few beats on her congas.....or finish that dang nutcracker painting that has been hanging around for years 馃槉

If you are young now, you are living those "good old days".... (with maybe a light glitch regarding covid.. or not) but still....you are. I hope you will realize it and stop fretting the small stuff and enjoy it all while you can.

It has been cloudy off and on today and is now raining cats and dogs or pigs and frogs or.... well... you get it.

Hope you are all doing well.

Love you !
