The moment I intended to sit down and share was my celebration that..... it is NOT tomorrow.
I love a quick nap after work to reset. It is not every day and usually not immediately after work nor at a specific time, just sometime. 45 minutes or maybe an hour.
An hour ago I woke up in my living room rocker. I had my feet up. I had been watching a video to which I planned a little nap after, but despite the plan I fell asleep right away. I usually tell my Alexa to set a timer to make sure I don't accidently sleep till bedtime, but of course, that did not happen.
I found myself waking up. It was very low light. I immediately thought I had slept till morning again. Wow! As my brain began to whirl I thought "My body doesn't feel like I've been here all night"... if you are older, you'll get that thought. THEN... I thought, but what time is it?? I asked my Alexa what time it was and she told me the time was 7:32. Without being anxious I quickly got up thanking my lucky stars (and God).... that I had not slept past my work time of 8 o'clock. My mind was running through the most important things for me to quickly do in the short time that I had.
All the while in the background, it was thundering and thundering as a small rain shower had been coming through.
As I stood in the bathroom washing my hands it hit me....did she say AM... or PM?? I came to my desk to look at the date...OH! I'm saved!... it is only 7:30 PM on Monday..... not 7:30 AM on Tuesday! Talk about instant delight! I was not only NOT having to rush now to get ready to punch in at work, I had the entire evening ahead of me. The stormy skies had helped fool me as here in the summer it is light until nearly 9 pm.... so the darkness had helped it appear it was early morning instead.
Believe me, living the above moment took a LOT less time than it has taken me to type it here.
By the time I decided to post, I had happily watered the flowers on my covered front porch, drank a cup of warm broth and was spiffing up the kitchen from the tiny amount of dishes I had used today. I noticed out the kitchen window that the sky was clearing and now there was a patch of blue sky with fluffy white clouds.
I told myself that I need to go post to capture and share my moment of celebrating that it is not tomorrow.
I pulled off my socks to go out on the back porch. It was wet from the happy rain. Two photos was what I was after, one photo of the blue sky and white clouds to the west and a second of the opposite direction of the still cloudy skies in the east.
I stepped out and looked east and....a rainbow had appeared! I took the photo and thought about what a second sweet surprise I was getting. I was expecting an angry sky and I was given a rainbow instead.
I was delighted. The eastern sky was not as angry as I imagined!
I then decided to go out to the front porch and see if I could get a wider shot of the rainbow. I scurried through the house on my wet bare feet knowing when it comes to rainbows, they can disappear as fast as they appear.
Much to my further surprise, from that angle there was not only one rainbow, but hints of a second. A double rainbow!
So, I am wondering what other magic this evening will hold, not that it needs anything more amazingly fun than what I have been given already.
I'm so happy it is not tomorrow though and getting rainbows to help celebrate was pretty nice.
