Hello!

It is not terribly unusual for someone around here to have a rain gauge on their porch or some area outside their back door or in their garden. My Aunt next door has one and my Mother and soon one of my nephew's wives and my sister will have one too as I have order one to go too them when they expressed interest in having one too. :)

I have the post to this one sticking down in one of my bigger flower pots on the back porch so it is convenient to see. For me it is just something for the fun of it.

I'm betting there are some that can attach to banisters / porch rails or the such. I haven't looked, but their could be.
