Doing good starts with God, because he is the one who gives us the intention to do good things, normally man desires the things of the world, he doesn't have the desire to seek God that is why the desire of man to know the word of God is very rare, cause he will always desire the things of the world like going to school, getting a spouse, having children.
Romans 2:4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance
Colossians 3:2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
If god hadn't given us life, we won't be alive and able to desire the things of the world, so it is our obligation to seek God and do his word, he will not be far from us if we seek him and if we have an intention to repent or do good we should not be shaken but instead follow it, since it is the will of God.
Ephesians 2:12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:
Acts 13:7-8 Which was with the deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the word of God.
But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith.
Luke8:5-9 “A sower went out to sow his seed. And as he sowed, some fell by the wayside; and it was trampled down, and the birds of the air devoured it. 6 Some fell on rock; and as soon as it sprang up, it withered away because it lacked moisture. 7 And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up with it and choked it. 8 But others fell on good ground, sprang up, and yielded a crop a hundredfold.”
In the world, there are four types of men and four types of hearts. The man on the side of the road who hears the word but the devil snatches it from his heart, the man with a rocky heart who hears the word but does not allow it to penetrate, the man with a thorny heart full of vices and ambitions who choke up the word in them, and the man with a fertile heart who receives the word with joy and patience and bears fruit.
Only one of the four hearts has a solid foundation.
There are many evil individuals with evil hearts in the world, but they have hope because God has promised to give them a new heart.
All men's hearts can be changed by God, and God's aim for all men is for them to be rescued.
Ezekiel 36:26
A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
