What does spirituality mean to you?

Let me start by welcoming everyone on this community into the year 2022. Happy new year.

When we talk about spirituality, we talk about belief.

But it's quite funny how people center spirituality in a place where they worship.

When you ask a Christian what spirituality means to him, he is likely to mention going to church for service, praying and worshiping God through Jesus Christ.

The same applies to a Muslim he is likely to say he goes to the mosque five times daily and gives his zakat to the less privileged though it's also applicable to the Christian religion.

The traditional worshippers will mention giving sacrifices to gods and so on.

Also applicable to other religions like Hindus, Buddhism, Judaism etc.

All that these people practice is called religion

Because their activities are visible before the very eyes of everyone.

But when are talking about spirituality

We talk about things beyond human eyes.

We talk about a realm that needs transformation before one will be able to access it.

I was once in the hospital where I saw an inscription written" we treat, God heals"

This simply means the restoration of one's health does not depend on the physical drugs administered to that person but there is a reality that can not be comprehended except your belief and go out of the physical realm before you will be able to understand what spirituality means.

It is hard to believe in what you have not seen.

But it still works with our instinct. When our instinct says it will work and it finally works it turns out to be believed.

Just like a doctor administering drugs to a patient and then telling the patient to go with a full belief that the patient will not come back the same way.

Spirituality is sometimes funny.

How hard is it to begin to say things that don't exist?

Since it's said that what one can not see, touch and feel doesn't exist.

Spirituality to me means looking at something that exists but looks like they don't exist knowing fully well that they exist and can manifest only if we believe.

Well, that's the little I can relate about what spirituality means to me.
