People still cannot get over the extensive cutting down of trees in the Capitol Complex. Imagine, more than 200 trees were removed—trees that could have prevented or mitigated the effects of disasters. Besides, it's hotter in our town now. Cutting down numerous trees means less oxygen will be produced in the atmosphere. A few people defending the project say things like, "They replanted and will replant new trees." The difference is that many people are unlikely to see those new trees mature. Therefore, the current generation will experience the adverse effects of the deforestation. The place, which used to be frequently visited during the daytime because of the shade the trees provided, will now be avoided except at night.
I'm not feeling well today because of a slight fever, a cold, and a cough. I had a hard time breathing at dawn because of a stuffed nose. I hope to feel better soon because I need to finish a lot of things.
I heard from someone that the tree-cutting will extend to Maramba Boulevard to widen the roads. I also saw a comment on Facebook regarding that possibility. This is so sad because it means the trees in the photos will become the next victims. We don't live far from this place.>
