What does it feel like to run into an ex-lover after many, many years?
I ran into my ex husband recently after years of not seeing him and it was a pretty messy divorce. I had held a lot of resentment towards him and with the way things ended. And I really didn't like the woman he left me for (obviously). And it took a lot of my inner peace from me for years. Truthfully, seeing him again after a few years just made me feel sorry for him because his life is in shambles now and I am doing well. I have since let all of my resentments go and don't think about him at all. I wish him well and wish him peace now whereas before I couldn't find it in my heart to forgive him. Seeing him again made me realize that I haven't really had feelings for him for years. He is a completely different person now and so am I. And we were so young when we were together and made so many mistakes that hurt each other. It feels nice to finally forgive him and to truly move on with my life. It's been a huge blessing for me.
