Greetings, welcome to my blog. I wish you all a great start of the week, especially to the @needleworkmonday community. I am very happy to be able to show you the latest project I knitted. The gnome is a very striking creature that has been made into movies and stories, becoming part of a collective imagination. The gnome comes from Turkey, going back to the Middle Ages in the 13th century, after that it arrived in Italy in the 16th century, the different types of gnomes originated in Thuringia, Germany, in the 19th century. In those countries gnomes are used in gardens (garden gnomes), while some parts of the world have them as decoration, but inside their houses. I wanted to make this creature for a long time, until I finally decided to do it. It was very small, because normally a gnome measures between 15 to 20 cm, while mine measures only 9.5 cm. It makes him look like a beautiful mini gnome. Let's see a little bit of the process of this beautiful ghostly gnome.

Estoy muy contenta de poder mostrarles el último proyecto que realicé tejido. El gnomo es una criatura muy llamativa, que se han hecho películas e historias, haciendo parte de un imaginario colectivo. El gnomo es proveniente de Turquía, remontándose a la edad media en el siglo XIII, después de eso llegó a Italia en el siglo XVI, los diferentes tipos de gnomos se originaron en Turingia, Alemania, en el siglo XIX. En esos países se usan los gnomos en los jardines (gnomos de jardín), mientras que algunas partes del mundo lo tienen de decoración, pero adentro de sus casas. Tenía muchas ganas de hacer esta criatura desde hace mucho tiempo, hasta que por fin me animé a hacerlo. Me quedó muy chiquito, porque normalmente un gnomo mide entre 15 a 20 cm, mientras que el mío mide solamente 9,5 cm. Lo hace ver como un hermoso mini gnomo. Vamos a ver un poco el proceso de este hermoso gnomo fantasmagórico.

• I started with the ghost hat, of the gnome, with the white yarn. I cast on 6 low stitches in a magic ring, then cast on 5 rows of increases.
• I continued making 13 rows of single crochet.

• Inicié por el gorro de fantasma, del gnomo, con el hilo blanco. Hice 6 puntos bajos en un anillo mágico, luego hice 5 hileras de aumentos.
• Continúe haciendo 13 vueltas de puntos bajos.

• I finished the ghost hat by making "fans" taking only the front strand.

• Terminé el gorro de fantasma haciendo "abanicos" tomando solamente la hebra delantera.

• For the ghost hat, I took the orange yarn and made 6 low stitches in a magic ring, 2 rows of increases, 1 row of low stitches taking the back strand, 3 rows of low stitches, 1 row of low stitches with the purple yarn.

• Para el sombrero del fantasma, tomé el hilo naranja e hice 6 puntos bajos en un anillo mágico, 2 hileras de aumentos, 1 hilera de puntos bajos tomando la hebra trasera, 3 hileras de puntos bajos, 1 hilera de puntos bajos con el hilo morado.

• I switched to orange yarn again and made a row of single crochet taking the front strand, and a last row of increases.

• Cambié al hilo naranja de nuevo e hice una hilera de puntos bajos tomando la hebra delantera, y una última hilera de aumentos.

• I took the peach colored yarn, and started with the gnome's arms, making 6 single crochets in a magic ring, 1 row of increases, switched to dark blue yarn and made 7 rounds of single crochets. I repeated the process to make the two arms.

• Tomé el hilo color durazno, y comencé con los brazos del gnomo, haciendo 6 puntos bajos en un anillo mágico, 1 hilera de aumentos, cambié al hilo azul oscuro e hice 7 vueltas de puntos bajos. Repetí el proceso para hacer los dos brazos.

• I took the peach colored yarn again and made the nose of the gnome, I started by making 6 low stitches in a magic ring, I made a row of increases, a row of low stitches and the last row of decreases.

• Tomé nuevamente el hilo color durazno e hice la nariz del gnomo, inicié haciendo 6 puntos bajos en un anillo mágico, hice una hilera de aumentos, una hilera de puntos bajos y la última hilera de disminuciones.

• For the body I took the blue yarn, made 6 low stitches in a magic ring, 7 rows of increases, 12 rows of low stitches, 2 rows of decreases, left long yarn to sew to the ghost hat.

• Para el cuerpo tomé el hilo azul, hice 6 puntos bajos en un anillo mágico, 7 hileras de aumentos, 12 hileras de puntos bajos, 2 hileras de disminuciones, dejé hebra larga para coser al gorro de fantasma.

• For the feet of the gnome I took the black yarn and made a magic ring of 6 single crochets, one row of increases and 3 rows of single crochets.

• Para los pies del gnomo tomé el hilo negro e hice un anillo mágico de 6 puntos bajos, una hilera de aumentos y 3 hileras de puntos bajos.

• For the beard, with the green yarn, I made chain stitches and a row of single crochet stitches. Then I joined the ends. I cut 21 green yarns and inserted them 3 by 3 in each stitch. That would be 7 stitches with 3 threads each. Here you can see each part before sewing.

• Para la barba, con el hilo verde, hice cadenetas y una hilera de puntos bajos. Luego uní los extremos. Corté 21 hilos verdes y los inserté de 3 en 3 en cada punto. Serían 7 puntos con 3 hilos cada uno. Acá o pueden ver cada parte antes de coser.

• I sewed with the wool needle each part that I had already filled.

• Cosí con la aguja lanera cada parte que ya había rellenado.

Here, after sewing everything together, I painted some eyes with cold paint because I couldn't get black textile paint.

Aquí, después de haber cosido todo, le pinté unos ojitos con pintura al frío porque no conseguí pintura textil negra.

And ready, this is how the beautiful ghost gnome turned out, I loved the result, I was so excited that I even made a little drawing in Ibis Paint X for my new Instagram account @ivydraw_cat where I currently show my drawings, I need to update my old account @ivyartgurumi where I used to post amigurumis. Y listo, así quedó el hermoso gnomo fantasma, me encantó mucho el resultado, me emocioné tanto que hasta un dibujito hice en Ibis Paint X para mi nueva cuenta de Instagram @ivydraw_cat donde muestro actualmente mis dibujos, me falta actualizar mi vieja cuenta @ivyartgurumi donde publicaba amigurumis.
