In a country full of bakeries, this is a true gem very worth of your visit.
In Korica (engl. crust) the bread is prepared with great care, on a traditional way using wild yeast culture older than 40 years and only local and natural ingredients. In bread production, time is the key ingredient and in Korica the pastry is produced with great care for 24 – 48 hours to let the fermentation naturally occur. They have zero tolerance for artificial products, conservatives and flavors.
Almond or butter croissant and a coffee is something I never skip when I am back to Croatia. This is without doubt the best croissant I have tried so far! Especially when it’s still warm.
Cruffins (a hybrid of a croissant and a muffin), all kinds of breads, brioche, pies, cookies...
There you also can find very tasty sandwiches - only a bit of delicious butter with prosciutto or ham in a perfect crusty baguette. It is also worth mentioning that the prices are quite affordable - for example 12HRK for a croissant (~ +1.7$) and about 15HRk for a sandwich (~2.2$).
Simplicity, high quality ingredients and a lot of love, knowledge and care in making bakery products – that’s what makes Korica the best bakery in Croatia.
Give it a try when you are visiting Croatia! :)
All the best,
Ivna
