He will look worried, and for the moments even angry. Remember - This has nothing to do with you. It is the market, and for those trading, the timing makes a big difference. Few percent either gain or loss is a lot.
Ask. Show the interest in what occupies him. If he can't talk to you about the things which make him happy, then something else is wrong. It doesn't matter if you know nothing about the charts and trading. I always say he can explain to me like I'm a six years old kid.
