Summer is one of the most awaited season: days are longer, sky is clearer, sun is shinning brighter.
We all love sunbathing on the beach or at the pool, trying to take all the light from the sun.

When we expose to sunlight, there are 2 types of rays we are dealing with:
UVA (A from aging) - responsible for the aging of the skin
UVB (B from bronze/burning)- responsible for the beautiful tan when in appropriate amount but also for sunburning.
To protect ourselves from the unwanted effects of sunlight it is recommended to use sunscreens (SPF products). We probably already know that, we hear it everywhere on media, in beauty stores, at the pharmacy. But do we use it correctly?
Here are some tips:

  1. We should apply sunscreens not only at the beach, but everytime we expose to sun - when walking in the park, skiing or jogging; even at the shade of an umbrella or a hut, the UV rays are reflected by sand, water and ground.
  2. Apply the sunscreen 20 minutes before exposing to the sunlight.
  3. Apply it as often as you can, due to the fact that SPF decreases in time. It should not take more than 2 hours between applications.
  4. Reapply it especially if you are sweating, after every bath or after using the towel.
  5. For increased protection and a beautifully tan skin use supplements that contain selenium, vitamin D, vitamin E, carotene and fatty acids (omega oils).
The foods that can provide you all this nutrients are: beet, carrots, tomatoes, algae, nuts, almonds, flaxseed and fish.
