that afternoon was quite weird, the sun was definitely shining but the it was drizzling at the same time.
i was looking at my plants when i realized this and tried my best to capture the moment.
it was definitely brighter earlier but night falls fast during this season.
back in the philippines, sunshowers also happens and we have a myth as to why that happens.
the gods above are having a party or that a tikbalang is getting married, choose what you like.
let me dive a bit on what a tikbalang is.
tikbalang
in philippine folklore, a tikbalang is a half human with the head and hooves of a horse.
this creature lurks usually in dark forested areas, and can be very mischievous in making humans walk around in circles until they get tired in a never ending loop.
as a counter to this, travelers will have to wear their clothes inside out.
and as i mentioned earlier, sunshowers is the result of a tikbalang wedding.
folklore is really interesting, don't you think.
in the absence of science way back then, our ancestors sought of ways to explain unusual phenomena, and folklore was the result of some of it.
they even made stories for eclipses, and stories for how places came to be.
what i'm trying to say is that they tried to explain stuff and folklore was their answer.

grocery
i was out of breakfast items for the next days, and as i have mentioned before my money situation is in the reds.
it would be very non-economical to buy single meal food, i am totally avoiding that.
food which can be eaten for multiple days is ideal; i had to go to the grocery for that.
and i chose an affordable grocery this time, hanamasa, known for wholesale items.
i was able to purchase a 1 kilo bag of burger patties for just a thousand yen, and burger buns aside from other items.
but i am pretty sure i will get sick with the taste of patties when eaten daily, so i was already planning of ways to cook the food as i was on my way home.
i already planned to mash the patty and cook as regular ground meat, i have thought of buying dumpling wrappers and rewrapping the meat inside; there were a couple of plans made.
the journey home
as i was thinking of those ways, i passed by this building which looked suspicious at first.
but it was just a normal public bath, my bad.
i wasn't expecting one near a very busy area and it was my first time to pass by here.
i can probably try going inside next time, it was only 500 yen and closes at 12 midnight.
i also passed by this door with a glass mosaic at the arch, definitely not my first time to pass by here but it was my first time to pass by while the inside lights were still on.
i could see children and some animals in those patterns.
this was a very short walk only.
one of the factor which contributed to that was the fact that it was cold.
and i really just had one thing in mind, to buy food; the walk was just secondary.
and i specifically choose a farther grocery for this matter as well, two birds with one stone they say.
and it was a gym day that day, i had to be home early.
i was okay not going but my housemate wanted to go, at least one of us isn't lazy today.
good enough for me.
as always, AMPING KANUNAY!
