it has been a while since i fully took care of my plants. today, i decided to take a closer look of each one of them and took mental notes of further care and needs of each pot. for the past months, i watered these little babies in their own places. but his time, i took them individually and watered them on the sink.
this allowed me to examine each pot, remove the unwanted dead leaves, and drown them in water. i have learned that succulents love to be drowned in water from time to time. they will probably need water after 2 or 3 weeks, and by then it will just be the normal volume. oh these babies are low maintenance yet can be very picky, at least to me they are. they want more sun and they are sure to tell me that by extending their stems to as long as they can. this process is called etoliation (i am not making that up at all). when that happens, just cut them and replant. i definitely have a lot of cutting and replanting to do.
look at how many i have cared over the past years. i could recall many dead ones, very very healthy looking one day, then slowly shed each leaf but never grow new ones until they die. in fact, i am fearing this outcome to one pot i have now. that can be very devastating to the care taker, but normal to plants. that is just how all life forms are, no one is eternal, no one lives forever. these little ones have taught me to accept this fact of life.
it may be too shallow for others to believe, but this is what i have where others might have pets. pets easily reacts to you and clearly interacts with you and that in turn makes you happy. what i have take days to react, some weeks even. but when they do form a bud or grow more leaves, that too makes me happy. this taught me patience. they also taught me to be more observant and pay attention to details, changes are very few and scattered but can be very surprising or life threatening. not all things are instant but a slow moving and quite life can also be complete.
oh well, most of these needs repotting, i have so much on my plate.
the day ended with a cardio workout. i went earlier so i had ample time to do other exercises as well.
immediately after, i did the usual treadmill. i am finally getting the hang of it. this rolling hills type, with inclinations going up and down every 6 or 7 minutes is really challenging. the first 6 minutes is really just an introduction, the lowest elavation of the whole course. but soon after, beads of sweat ran down my body. so i guess this new course made me sweat more than the one i had before. and that is a good thing right? perseverance is the key to success indeed.
hope you had a splendid wednesday as well.
as always, take care and have fun!
