Today's artist is a South African musician called Itai Hakim.
Please give him a chance.
His sound is what I would classify as African indie folk. The song I have chosen is called "Ni songo gela", which is Venda for 'don't get lost or don't lose your way'.
The song uses the idea of being lost in woods as metaphor to being lost in the city.
I myself don't speak the language, but I can feel the truth in everything he says through the way he performs the song.
Listen to till the end, when the song hits, it hits hard.
He is truly an underrated artist, he still in process of recording his album.
I have listed a link to his sound cloud page if you like his sound.

From Itai Hakim's soundcloud: "The song is about counsel given from an elder advising their children and grand children to not get lost in the woods and to know how to find their way back to the village homestead. The woods in our modern context is the city and we're tasked with remembering where home is. By home I mean home, home. Ni songo gela is Venda for 'don't get lost or don't lose your way'"
