I am so sorry, Jose. I think I have written a post in hive Naija before explaining how I have never had terrible bosses.

When I read other people's entries, I felt like I might have been living in fairytales.

The first time I wanted to work, I was 16. And my dad was against it because he said I would be exploited. I didn't even understand what that meant but I went ahead and worked. It was a betting outlet.

I enjoyed it. Had the salary, and feeding funds from the job. But my restlessness made me leave. The subsequent one was the boss I explained above, this wasn't a job, it was a learning curve, but, I had benefits. At 21, I was able to leave my parents and live on my own because of the money I made from working with that person plus baking in the early hours of the morning and making deliveries on my way to work.

Again, dad was against it. But seeing that I had his blood running through my veins, stubbornness is a family thing, and he allowed me.

My attitude towards work had been different because my father gave me, the book, Rich Dad, Poor dad, at age 14. It was there I learned I am supposed to work to learn and not to earn. I think I went into the workforce with this at the back of my mind. So I was able to make my bosses feel comfortable about working with me and teaching me a thing or two that generated money.

My dad's fear of being exploited didn't actually come true in a way. Instead, my dysania has made me leave jobs that promised a lot for my future, and I can't help but wonder if it's a blessing or a curse.

I even have a recent one I had here in Abuja. It wasn't my job. I was only standing in for a friend, it turned out her boss fell in love with me and wanted me to stay. It was the first time I had to look a superior in the eye and say, 'i'm sorry, I would have loved to stay, but I can't", even when I enjoyed working with them. This last time, I came home, and I felt bad.😔

It's crazy. I am probably not from Earth... Maybe, another planet... 😂

Enough about me, what would you have done differently now, in your previous work? Do you mind sharing? I am sure it will help me, and someone who might find this conversation.
