Hello everyone and all members of the Black and White Community, how are you today? May we all always be given health and happiness in living every step of this life. This time, I want to participate again in this community by providing some interesting black and white photography for us to see and this is my entry for the #monomad challenge.
About last year, I went with my friend to bring several farmer groups from North Sumatra to Solok, West Sumatra. Our goal at that time was to conduct a comparative study on social forestry which was being discussed by the Indonesian government. Social Forest is one of the forest management concepts for people who live bordering protected forests and production forests. This concept was developed by the Indonesian Ministry of Forestry and Environment to improve people's welfare and also to empower forests properly. Forest areas that may be managed are state forest areas in the form of production forests and also protected forests. However, it is not allowed to encroach on nature reserves and national parks.
In simple terms, the concept of social forestry is that rural communities are given the right to manage forests for 35 years by forming farmer groups and submitting applications for forest management to the Indonesian ministry. For protected forests, people are given health insurance to manage forests in the form of ecotourism or agroforestry and for production forests, people can cut down trees provided they have planted them beforehand.
Call me Isdarmady, because I have a full name that is very long, namely Isdarmady Syahputra Ritonga. I am a head of the family who work as Farmers Vegetables Hydroponic and Consultant Hydroponics, sometimes I also sell coffee from various regions in Indonesia.
I have expertise dispensing coffee with a variety of techniques and tools brewing, because I have the desire to make a coffee shop with hydroponics as centerpieces. Help me realize that dream.
