Hello everyone!!
In our day-to-day conversation, I have realized how everyone plays a significant role in controlling how they relate, which is why whenever two people are in a fight, it is as a result of one of them or both of them not being able to control what they say to at least stop the quarrel at that point. A very significant virtue I will say everyone needs is how to control how the small organ (the tongue) moves. What is virtue at this point?
Virtue is one thing that relatively defines integrity. The point where it is tempered questions an individual's character.
How do words hurt?
They can be heartbreaking, piercing the heart, causing pain, and, to some extent, causing sudden death. Likewise, words can be so sweet, keeping a healthy mind, stirring up interesting moments, and resolving problems. The urge to speak every time should not be a signal to obviously open your mouth. A short thought about what is to be said can be a scene-saving moment. The things we say can be forgiven yet, will be resurfacing when the person is seen, and the extent of how deep they went can cause a lifetime form of protection towards someone or a person. We have been made to understand that whatever comes out of the mouth obviously comes from the heart. The mouth can be an aid to saving moments and also a barrier to saving moments.
The tongue aids in forgiveness.
Everything can be forgiven, even for most people whose religious lives can cause them to forgive even when there is no apology rendered or when the offense is at its climax. In situations like this, what we say can be a major aid to forgiveness. Of course, as said earlier, the mind has already thought of it before an apology is rendered. Though some people fake it, it is a trap for someone who doesn't admit it but fakes it.
A bridled tongue
The virtue I find significant. This little act of control is therapeutic. When an individual lacks this, it can cause hatred, fights, and many other things. How often have I been hurt? Years ago, when I saw this from a different perspective, it made me susceptible to hurting words, but now a different mindset is what I hold, taking me off from thinking about what isn't healthy.
Recently, a student ignorantly said something abusive about a lecturer, and to the student's greatest surprise, the lecturer was behind her. This particular moment really stirred up action from the lecturer that didn't only affect the student but the whole class in general. This wouldn't have been an issue if the student kept the annoyance within her. Now see the result: a new marking scheme was introduced, causing an increase in the number of failures in that class. A particular statement was made, and now it is affecting innocent students. Students who were supposed to pass very well, helping to attain a particular grade, are now on an average scale. Let's be guided.
Thank you for reading!! I will really appreciate your opinion on this.
