Hola, comunidad Holos Lotus.

Hello, Holos Lotus community. Today I want to write to you about an important topic and, above all, also make a reflection on the following topic: as people, we are not our thoughts.
This topic is extremely important because, sometimes, recognizing our own thoughts can even change an entire day. For example, let me give you an example: sometimes, when I write on Hive, I think beforehand: “Oh, how difficult, how complicated, now, what am I going to talk about?” But I reflect on these thoughts within myself and, well, to start writing and get good ideas, it happens to me that I only get the good ideas when I am in front of the computer.

And, well, understanding that I am not those thoughts that told me that I couldn't or that it was going to be tiring.
I also remind myself that I am not my thoughts and that I can also have a greater capacity to analyze them; therefore, being able to control what I think leads me to better control my emotions.
Sometimes, for example, I may wake up one day with thoughts of sadness or loneliness. Well, that's okay, I allow myself to feel it. Also, when this happens to me, what I do is have a moment of reflection with myself: What am I feeling? Why am I feeling this? Why is this happening to me? What can I do better?
Well, I also start writing and then, even though my feelings decrease a little, I feel a little better and start doing my daily activities.
Sometimes it has happened to me that my fears or obstacles are in my own mind. When I want to talk to that person or when I want to do something that seems a little complicated to me, I have thoughts of nervousness, that I won't be able to do it or that it will be difficult.
That happened to me, let's say, once when I had to sell at Platzi. I had feelings about whether what I was going to do would be okay or whether I would be a good salesperson. Well, on this occasion, it went very well for me. I think that, sometimes, I can dare to have different results.

It also happens to me that, when I am talking with a person and, let's say, they don't respond, sometimes the mind can interpret things that are not true. For example, that if they don't respond, it is because they are angry or because something has happened.
Well, here I have learned that each person can also have their daily activities and, well, the other person responds when they can, and that's okay, nothing bad is happening.
I also use this example to be able to identify what types of thoughts I have, whether they are true or not.
All of this makes me reflect on the following: What does it mean that we are not our thoughts? Well, first, for me it means this: thinking something does not mean that it is true. For example, if I think that when giving an in-person talk I am going to do it badly, I may have that thought, but I also learn that it is not true, that I can prepare myself, study, and research. It is true that I may feel nervous, but with good preparation, it can be done well.
And speaking of talks, tomorrow I have one on X with Sakura. The topic will be the following: “Develop Your Skills and Dare to Start a Business.” At the end of the article, I will share the link to the X talk so that you can attend.
There are also automatic thoughts, that inner voice. I can identify it when I think the following: if something goes wrong, if I won't be able to get what I want, if I am doing something wrong, or if nothing good is really going to happen to me.
When facing these thoughts, I try to understand why I feel this way. When I have these feelings, I try to calm myself down and do other activities. In my case, I like going to the gym or writing to know how to calm these difficult automatic thoughts.

To improve a little, well, I recommend using conscious observation of what you are thinking, knowing why you feel that way, and knowing how to identify it in time.
Regarding this topic, for me it is extremely important because it helps me, let's say, sometimes, to do things beyond my comfort zone or dare to create different things. First, when I try something new, I try to identify what thoughts I have. Then I take action, although sometimes it is not easy. I also have doubts about whether everything will turn out well.
There are thoughts that can be difficult to handle. What I do in those moments is identify and observe the thought, question whether it is really true or not, and ask myself questions about why it is happening.
One of the questions that helps me the most is: Do I have evidence that this is true? I also ask myself: Why is this happening to me? What am I feeling? What can I learn from this situation?
Asking myself these questions allows me to better identify what I am thinking and feeling so that I can work on it and improve.
There are also habits that can help us when we are having complicated thoughts and want to learn that we are not our thoughts. For example: exercising, sleeping well, taking conscious breaths, disconnecting for a moment, writing in a journal, and, above all, talking about what we feel with a person we trust or a friend.

It is also important to continue learning, read books, and look for new tools that help us better understand our minds.
This is everything I wanted to share with you. Thank you very much for reading me.
