Hello, has it ever happened to you that, when we are without internet, sometimes you feel a sense of calm? I always remember that when the power went out at my house, I looked for different alternatives to pass the time. Well, in this post I will talk about the creativity that can arise when someone decides to disconnect from all social media. Now let's see what this post will be about. I hope you enjoy reading it!
Sometimes I feel that being connected is something normal and part of our daily routine. However, I also believe that doing offline activities has helped me recover my energy to write. I even feel that more ideas come to my mind. One of my favorite activities to disconnect is going to the gym. I like spending some time there; I usually stay for almost an hour. Even though it may seem like a short time, instead of feeling more tired, I feel that I recover my energy. After working out, creativity comes to me so I can continue with my daily activities.
But what do I mean by creativity? In my case, more focused on Hive, it is that moment when I feel I have something to tell: a story, an experience, or a reflection. I talk about creativity because I also think I should find a unique way to express those ideas. Many times, those moments of inspiration come when I am doing analog activities, such as having face-to-face conversations with other people.
Let me tell you that those moments without internet help me be more present. Although, to be honest, sometimes I also feel anxious or have the desire to reconnect. However, when I reflect on how I feel, I can change my perspective and learn to enjoy the time I spend with other people. Thinking about it carefully, those are the moments when we are truly more connected: not to a screen, but to real conversations and the people in front of us.
Many times, we live with the idea of always being connected. If I want to learn something, I need to use the computer; if I want to read, I usually use my phone; and if I want to talk with other people, I often connect through Zoom.
For me, these opportunities to connect with people from other countries are also a way to open my mind. I know that every person has a different culture, experiences, and ways of thinking, and that allows me to learn a lot. I enjoy hearing stories of overcoming challenges because I always find valuable lessons in them. From time to time, I take those lessons that other people share and try to apply them to my own life.
Being constantly connected can also overwhelm the mind. Many times, we pay attention to the latest thing someone posted, or we feel the fear of missing out. In addition, comparisons can arise, when in reality each person's life is unique and everyone reaches their goals at the right time.
I must admit that this has happened to me as well. Sometimes I compare myself to others and end up falling into a spiral of negative thoughts. However, I manage to calm myself when I understand that each person goes through their own process and that we do not all move forward at the same pace.
Another of my favorite activities is talking with people, even if they live in other countries. I like building good friendships and getting to know different ways of thinking. Besides, it is always nice to have someone to talk to and share experiences with, because every conversation can also teach us something new.
The analog activities that I enjoy are going to the gym, walking my dog, going for walks, taking photos of the city, and doing different things. I also like coloring mandalas or, sometimes, doing activities with friends. Well, all of this helps me feel calmer, clear my mind, and have a stronger desire to improve myself, especially when I hear inspiring stories of overcoming challenges. That is why I like choosing my friends carefully.
Another activity that I enjoy is cleaning the house. All of this takes time and, sometimes, I find it enjoyable; it is part of my routine, in addition to learning and creating on the computer. I hope that, in the future, there will come a time when the computer or the cellphone is replaced by something that allows for greater human connection instead of something that distances people from one another.
The internet and technology are extraordinary tools. Personally, I feel that they have helped me learn in a faster and more efficient way. Thanks to them, I have improved the way I write because I am always looking for new strategies to create articles, and I rely on copywriting techniques that allow me to communicate my ideas more effectively.
In addition, I enjoy learning English, and I can say that I have made a lot of progress in understanding it. I also enjoy meeting people from different countries because every conversation allows me to learn something new and broaden my perspective.
However, I also believe that spending too much time in front of a screen or being constantly overwhelmed with information can be exhausting. That is why I think it is important to disconnect from time to time and dedicate some time to other activities that allow us to find balance, recover our energy, and continue creating with a clearer mind.
This has been my reflection for today. I hope you enjoyed it. Greetings to everyone!
