Stayed in Waikiki, how could we missed the Waikiki sunset? The high rise apartment that I stayed was a block away from Waikiki Beach. After we checked out the apartment and had a dinner, we walked to Waikiki beach to check it out.
At the time already closed to the evening, the ocean started having high tide and more and more water getting into the pond where the kids stayed. I sat far away from the water and kept my eyes on the kids. Suddenly, more and more people stopped by the area. I was wondering why they suddenly came over.
I heard from them talking about this spot was the best place to watch sunset. A lot of them had the cameras ready to capture the best moment of the sunset. It made sense then, the ocean water was reflected by the golden sun and moved as the gold fish scales in the ocean. Even the sky and the far away mountains were covered by golden colors, and us too. At the time I blinked my eyes, the sun was down like buried by the
mountains.
I was stunned by the view and forgot to take out my camera to take pictures. The second day, kids wanted to go the the pond again because a lot fishes followed the high tidewater and swam around the kids. I was smart enough to found a best spot, holding my camera and waiting for a best sunset moment to come. Although I already watched the sunset last night, it was stunned me still. I kept taking the pictures. I even turned my head to took pictures of the surrounding buildings, beachfront, and a far away Diamond Head.
Waikiki is my most favorite vacation spot. If the COVID-19 pandemic is over, I want to go there again. I missed the beautiful beach, delicious food, and the nice people there.
