Greetings to all, today I am full of enthusiasm because I have finally carried out a craft that I have had in my head for many months, it is a multipurpose Mamushka, the Russian dolls called Mamushka are characterized by going in descending order in size because one keeps another inside, these dolls are like an ovoid-shaped chest and have very bright colors, I have made some small ones that are used to store many things, I used one to store my pills (I have many ailments 😅 ), one can serve as a piggy bank (to hide money from oneself) and another one is used to store cotton and swabs for any emergency, but you can use them to put jewelry or anything you want, you will be surprised to know that they are made with bottles of antiperspirant deodorant ball, here I show you how.
Materiales/ Materials
- Regla
- Pinceles
- Empty roll-on deodorant bottles, two are needed for each mamushka
- Glue (I used special glue for shoes because it is more resistant than silicone)
- Cold paints
- Scraps of foam
- pencil
- Cutter and Scissors
- ruler
- brushes
With the cutter cut the jar to extract only the side of the thread, the lids and the screwed part will be used, the balls are saved for other projects because they are very useful. I used 6 jars to make 3 Mamushkas (that's right! I spent all those months collecting the jars I was using 🙈)
Cut 2 strips of foam for each Mamushka, the first 1x13.3cm and the second 2x12cm. Stick the first strip of foam on the inner edge of one of the covers, place clothespins to hold while sticking. The second strip should be glued along the inside edge of the threads. When both parts dry glue one inside the other to create the bottom part of each Mamushka, when the glue is dry then the other lid will screw on easily and the oval will be left, it looks like a kinder surprise or Easter egg.
With white paint cover all the ovals, you can use cold paint but I didn't have white so I painted it with wall paint 😅 Then with a pencil draw the dolls.
Now the funniest part arrives, the colors of the Mamushka are to personal taste, so I made three different shades of violet for the lower part of the body, the central part I made yellow as well as the hair, but the Mamushka can be blonde, brown or red-haired, that is to say there is no rule as far as I know, I suggest enjoying this part and not bothering so much about the perfection of the details, the flowers can be made as you like.

Did I mention I'm excited? Well I am 😁 because I can get rid of my mom's complaints because I don't throw away empty deodorant bottles, I've always liked recycling and reusing objects so this project, although it took me time, was worth it, I suggest you look for empty family jars so you don't take too long to collect them like I did. I hope you like my idea.
