Saludos querida comunidad, hace un tiempo se me acabaron los ojos para amigurumis, normalmente compro de 5 y 8mm porque los amigurumis pequeños son los que mas me piden, hago la compra por Internet porque en mi ciudad no los venden así que cuando hago debo aprovechar de comprar todo lo que necesito de una sola vez, así que por primera vez decidí incluir ojos de tamaño mas grande, pero pasado un tiempo no los había usado porque nadie me ha encargado amigurumis de un tamaño que los amerite, así que estuve pensando en diseño hacer para probar los ojos y decidí hacer un Garfield 😄

Greetings, dear community! A while back, I ran out of eyes for my amigurumis. I usually buy 5mm and 8mm sizes, as small amigurumis are what I’m asked to make most often. Since they aren’t sold in my city, I have to order them online—which means I make sure to buy everything I need in one go. This time, I decided to include some larger-sized eyes, but for a while, they just sat there unused because no one had requested an amigurumi large enough to require them. So, I started thinking about what kind of design I could create to put these eyes to use, and I decided to make a Garfield! 😄

Para este amigurumi usé lana acrílica gruesa y ganchillo de 3.5mm, comencé por los pies con un ovalo de 16 puntadas, los dedos los hice con punto puff, hice 4 disminuciones por 2 hileras para obtener el tobillo de 8 y luego 4 aumentos para obtener la pierna de 12 puntadas de ancho, uní las piernas por 3 cadenas y continué el cuerpo con 30 puntos altos, cambiando de color para las rayas de 29 puntadas con negro dejando las 11 puntadas de centro solo con naranja, dejando 2 hileras de separación entre cada raya. Aparte hice los brazos con 6 puntos bajos en un anillo, una hilera de aumentos, 2 hileras de 12 y una hilera de 6 disminuciones para continuar con 6 puntos bajos por 4 hileras mas, uní los brazos a los lados por 3 puntos bajos, continué el cuerpo con 6 disminuciones hasta obtener el cuello de 18.

For this amigurumi, I used thick acrylic yarn and a 3.5mm crochet hook. I started at the feet with an oval of 16 stitches, created the toes using puff stitches, worked 4 decreases over 2 rows to form an ankle of 8 stitches, and then added 4 increases to create a leg 12 stitches wide. I joined the legs with 3 chains and continued the body with 30 stitches, incorporating black stripes (29 stitches wide, leaving the 11 center stitches in orange) with 2 rows of space between each stripe. Separately, I made the arms: starting with 6 single crochet stitches in a magic ring, I worked one row of increases, two rows of 12 stitches, and one row of 6 decreases, followed by 4 more rows of 6 single crochet stitches. I attached the arms to the sides using 3 single crochet stitches, then continued the body with 6 decreases to form a neck of 18 stitches.

Para la cabeza hice 5 cadenas de base, hice aumentos en las esquinas por 3 hileras y luego intercalé una hilera de aumentos con una hilera sin aumentos hasta obtener 42 puntadas de ancho, continué recto intercalando las rayas de color negro con 2 hileras naranja de separación, al obtener 3 rayas negras hice 6 disminuciones a los lados hasta obtener 18.

For the head, I started with a foundation chain of 5 stitches, worked increases at the corners for 3 rows, and then alternated between a row with increases and a row without increases until I reached a width of 42 stitches. I continued working straight, alternating black stripes with 2-row orange sections in between. Once I had 3 black stripes, I worked 6 decreases along the sides until I was left with 18 stitches.

Para los ojos hice 6 puntos bajos en un anillo, 6 aumentos, 12 puntos bajos por 7 hileras y luego 6 disminuciones, trabajé con blanco por 4 hileras y con naranja por 5 hileras. La nariz la hice de 8 puntadas de ancho, los bigotes de 6 puntadas por 9 hileras y las orejas con 12 puntadas de ancho por 4 hileras. La cola la hice con 16 puntadas y fui haciendo 2 disminuciones cada 3 hileras hasta terminar con 8, alternado las rayas negras en la mitad de las puntadas cada 3 hileras.

For the eyes, I worked 6 single crochet stitches into a ring, followed by 6 increases, 12 single crochet stitches for 7 rows, and then 6 decreases; I used white for 4 rows and orange for 5 rows. The nose is 8 stitches wide, the whiskers are 6 stitches wide by 9 rows, and the ears are 12 stitches wide by 4 rows. For the tail, I started with 16 stitches and worked 2 decreases every 3 rows until 8 stitches remained, alternating black stripes across half of the stitches every 3 rows.
