Greetings dear community, today I share with you my new participation in the Splinterlands Art Contest Week 377, for this I made a macramé wall hanging with the character Byzantine Kitty, I chose this character for obvious reasons 😁, I love cats and this me It seems very cute, but as the Lore says, you should not underestimate the power of this card, despite its cute appearance it performs excellently in battle. I hope you like to appreciate the process.

To do this work, the first thing I did was make a vertical cut of the image to make the pattern and choose the colors. Since this kitten is white, I did not want to use only white but rather make the nuances of the image show, so instead of a figure with black outline, I decided to make the figure with gold outline, the white base color and the of shadow in beige, that way I was able to give it a light and shadow effect, I used black as a background, it is the first time that I make a pattern without outlined in black and it was not that easy, but once I was able to do it, I loved the result. I worked with 1 mm acrylic yarn, I used 10 colors: gold, white, beige, black, gray, green, blue, lilac, pink and fuchsia.

I started by cutting 18 strands of 50cm black yarn and an additional strand that I left attached to the ball. I knotted the strands to a plastic stick to get 37 guide threads and one knotting thread that is attached to the ball for the black background.

As I have explained on other occasions, the knotting thread wraps around each of the guide threads twice, the color of the knotting thread is what changes, the guide threads are only there to be embraced by the knotting threads, each knot is like a pixel of the picture. This character has equally white wings, so instead of using just white, I made a color gradient with white, gray and lilac.

Since the background was black, I made the details or effects of small lights with green and white thread. At first I had doubts that the gold outline could stand out with the white and beige, but I actually achieved the desired effect, because it didn't seem like anything to me. It is advisable to use only white thread, this would leave a flat effect result, so my intention was to highlight the fur effect that will never look completely white.

This wall hanging has 37 guide threads and 80 rows of knots, doing the multiplication I am surprised at the result, can you believe there are 2960 knots here? a job that took me quite a few hours, I estimate about 20 although I never set a timer 🤭. After finishing the knots, I grouped the strands into four parts and with fuchsia thread I made a knot, I cut the strands to make fringes, then with six 24 cm strands of black thread I made the braid and tied it to the stick to finish the wall hanging.
