In the photos, I managed to capture the injured bald eagle's attempts to take flight.
Unfortunately, I'm not very familiar with this system yet, and I can't get the photo above—which is the last one in this series—to appear at the very bottom.
Unfortunately—or perhaps fortunately—the attempt was not successful. The bird landed on the water of a nearby lake. It was successfully captured and taken to a special rehabilitation center. It is now fully recovered and back in the wild.
One final note: the white-tailed eagle is not an eagle; it belongs to the hawk family. The English name can be misleading
