This particular restaurant comes to mind the moment I saw the theme for Round 9 as Cheap & Fabulous!
It's true that everyone looks for a good bargain especially if it's related to food. Many say that you get what you pay for, but when something really good comes up every now and then, our eyes and ears are all ready for action. Even the stomach grumbles louder than ever!
So, imagine when my fourteen year-old told me that he had found a gem in this specific restaurant that serves Japanese sushi. Sushi Jiro is considered a casual japanese dining with outlets in several shopping malls nearby my area. Not so popular since there are many famous sushi outlets around town.
The one attraction on this outlet is it's MOTTO!
Now, who could resist such an offer ! Each plate is RM2.99 if ordered a minimum of five plates on one bill. Now, you may suspect that the menu items are mainly the below average items, but hear me out it's selection is pretty good.

Unlike most sushi outlets, Sushi Jiro works with the technology which is very much appreciated by the upcoming millenials. They use bar codes so that customers can order their items faster and easier.
How To Order
They may use unorthodox ways in promoting themselves, but one thing for sure, they still have the sushi belt which displays all those sushi items. As customers, we just pick and choose which plate we want from the belt.
If the selected item is not on the sushi belt, we can order using the bar code from our phone and it comes to us in a robot server just above the sushi belt. Really cool !
That's my son with his order on the robot server and after taking the plate from the robot server, we need to press the green button so that the robot server will return back to the kitchen.
This is my happy son after enjoying his fill of sushi for lunch.

Our meal only cost us RM41.80 ( approximately USD10.20) which is really affordable for three persons. So, be on the look out for this restaurant next time you're in a shopping mall. Don't miss out on this good deal !
