Farewells are difficult especially when it's with people whom you care for and work very well with. And when we do bid farewell, food is definitely on the table. It's somewhat the best way to say goodbye and with them the best of luck. At least for me it was when I told my team that I was leaving; and that was two months ago. And of course, it was sushi and sashimi for us. We decided to go to Kohaku Sashi & Yakiniku Japanese Restaurant at Vincom Mall, District 1, Saigon, Vietnam
Interior of restaurant
Bar
The restaurant is located at the basement level of the mall with high traffic of mall shoppers. It has the best frontage because it's located at the entrance of the observation deck. Constantly full of diners as such making it challenging to just walk in without making prior reservation. Thankfully for us, we arrived before the lunch crowd so getting a table was easier than usual.
Menu
Menu
The restaurant is nice and cosy with sufficient tables for both small and large crowds. Since it was only two of us, it's much easier to find a table suitable for us. The variety of choices on the menu is fantastic. Everything and anything can be found here. I enjoyed the appetizers since it's exactly the flavours that I like. It does look pretty much like Korean kimchi if you ask me.
Side Plates
Tea Pot Set
Condiments
As for the crockery used at Kohaku, one would agree that it's all imported. No cheap stuff for this restaurant, that's one thing for sure. I have to say that I was impressed with their choices of plates, bowls, cups and tea pot. All so exquisitely designed.
Appetizer
What's left of our lunch..:)
We were hungry so we quickly ordered our sushi, tempura and a bowl of udon. I only managed to take two photos of our lunch since I was famished and of course we were both late to get back to work. The dishes were good and inexpensive too.
Definitely worth our visit here and I'll be sure to come back here again next time; hopefully soon.
