Hello steemians friends, there is no education without value, but what is a value? More specifically, what do we mean when we talk about values? With what criterion do we recognize them and what is their relationship with reality, without talking about their relationships with each other? When talking about values we must point out some issues. First, we must emphasize the real character of the value. It should be clear that values are not fictions, objects of the imagination, belonging, therefore, to the world of the fantastic. They belong, on the contrary, to the world of the real. They are realities rooted in our culture. From them we think, act, decide and give explanation and coherence to our life. Real is not only the empirically observable, measurable or quantifiable.

For common thought the term value means:

  1. Everything that is capable of breaking our indifference;

  2. That which responds to our tendencies and inclinations;

The beauty of a statue, the justice of an act, the grace of a feminine profile are not things that can be understood or not understood. You can only feel them, and better, estimate or dismiss them.

Value and value systems are always dynamic and plural, with the same dynamism and plurality as the concrete and real man to whom they refer. We understand values as ideal life forms, as basic beliefs that ultimately explain the behavior of an individual and a society.

Inmaterial realities, but as real as the air we breathe. Without them, the multiplicity of cultures in their customs, traditions and institutions could not be understood as different forms of personal and collective fulfillment.
