Another very common bird in the area of Mar del Plata, Argentina, where I live. Common and widely distributed species throughout much of the country: It inhabits lagoons, rivers, beaches, marshes, ponds and estuaries.
It feeds mainly on small fish that it catches with its long beak, but it can also devour almost any small animal such as amphibians, reptiles or rodents.

• Otra de las aves muy comunes en la zona de Mar del Plata, Argentina, donde yo vivo. Especie común y ampliamente distribuida por toda gran parte del país: Habita lagunas, ríos, playas de mar, bañados, charcas y esteros.
  Se alimenta principalmente de pequeños peces que captura con su largo pico, pero también puede devorar casi cualquier pequeño animal como anfibios, reptiles o roedores.
