It has been over a month since I have edited anything. Life has taken on a different rhythm and it has not seemed like a relevant activity somehow. After telling the kids that Australia was a much drier place than Canada we had nothing but torrential rain for the first couple of weeks in the country. We spent almost a week up at our ridgetop property not long after arriving back to sort through some things we had stored there before packing up our 4WD and heading off on our next set of adventures. It was surreal being back for those few days; a strange blend of intimacy and foreignness with the surroundings. We spent seven years looking out over the regular cloud inversions from this little ridge top. It was exciting to be able to use the drone to finally look back at the property itself, like a tiny island in the sky.
Here is some video footage from that same morning. Music is Sheets by Damien Jurado.
