Exams are something that we don’t want to face but we are bound to face them as in different stages we can’t move forward unless we clear the exam. It can be in academic institutions for study, or it can be for finding job opportunities. Whatever the reason, we can’t avoid the exam if we want to move forward in life. We are judged by the number of the number we get in exams because it is supposed to represent the capabilities of one person. But the question is if exams can really measure the intelligence of a person. What do you think?
I think that the question of exams and the difficulties of exams need to be considered first. If the question is standard and made in such a way to judge the intelligence of a person, then the exam should be considered as an ideal exam based on the exam think primary judgement can be done but still I don’t think that it’s not enough to judge the intelligence of others. Besides, there are many variables in such a case. Suppose one person is not in his best condition or faces some trouble on exam day that makes him nervous. In fact, some people become nervous when they hear the name of exam.
I have seen many students in my life those were very good usually but because of their little carelessness for nervousness they made mistakes. Just after finishing the exam, they also know they done wrong in the exam and it means that their ability and intelligence is much higher than what they represent in the exam and that’s the reason I strongly deny judging anyone’s intelligence depending on the exam. In case of study, I think those exams can give a little hint about intelligence but in maximum cases it shows the efforts the students made for the exam. Efforts and intelligence both are not the same thing. For education it can be considered as standard but for job it’s far from enough.
If it’s far from enough for job, why such kind of exams taken usually? The reason is simple; it’s the way to judge how dedicated they are to the job and how much effort they have made for it. I think all of those exams were done to reduce the candidate and short list them. The real exam to judge the intelligence is the job interview as well as viva. That’s the real exam for the job candidates and I think that all the people in the judging position are experienced one and they know what to ask? They should be able to understand many things just by the body language of the job candidates and after talking and asking some questions they can understand how capable and intelligent one person is. If they feel one person is suitable for a position, they naturally appoint it.
Those are just some ways to figure out how intelligent one person is but the reality is that there is not 100% surety judge the intelligence.
