I am just your run of the mill, ordinary average person. Finding things to write about everyday can be a challenge. I spend most of the day making sure that my kid gets a real life education, and not be indoctrinated into to someone else's idea of what life should be. Thinking for yourself and being your own person in today's world is a challenge.
I think I will cap off this month long run with a freewrite. Seeing as how doing freewrites makes it easier to do these types of challenges. LoL. 😃
Gear: 5 Minutes
What ever you do in life you use some type of gear, to do a job, or just about anything really. What kind of gear do you need to be writer? Or a musician?
Back in the days when I played heavy metal shows, I had a green Jackson KE 2 guitar, with a Floyd Rose tremelo, Seymour Duncan pickups, and etc., with a Marshall stack and effects. Ancient days gone by. 😆
These days my gear is a computer, keyboard and mouse. I have transitioned to writing music via a DAW and a Yamaha keyboard... Ableton is my gear of choice. It's most comfortable for me, I have tried others, and was like hmmm... I will stick with Ableton.
I also use the computer gear for writing posts on HIVE. I like using Adobe Photoshop for doing graphics, been using that since the beginning practically. Yes I am that old. LMAO.
I have tons of software I've collected over the years, as I've done lots of different things over the years. Everything from marketing to running a dedicated server hosting company, to code monkey and beyond. Now I just write and take care of my kid. Getting her to adulthood intact, with a functioning brain is my main focus.
I may be an old dog, but I love learning new tricks!
I suppose the most important thing that I use daily, is my imagination. It comes in handy when making a story come to life. Creating new characters for a story is always fun. I can decide their fate, in the realm of my imagination. Sometimes they get lucky, sometimes they don't. If I am creating a song, imagination definitely comes in handy. A lot of times the ideas go into the recycle bin, till I find the one idea that works LoL.
What ever you decide to do, make sure that you get the gear that suits you, so you can do what makes you happy.
