A: So you have three parents? How does that even work?
B: You might want to sit down. Ok my Bio-mom made a deal with a witch for arcane knowledge or something like that, while the witch didn’t know that she already made a deal with a demon to have his Child; which is me, in exchange for eternal youth.
A: How does that even work? Who do you live with? Who'd even have custody?
B: IDK they worked it out, I used to live with witch-mom before moving out. Dad kinda chill he visited every other weekend and second x-mas.
A: So you’re okay with that situation?
B: Are you kidding? I got arcane magic fuelled by demonic power, and bio-mom teaches me about “magical tax evasion” -- Anon Guest
[AN: I have seen this Tumblr post lol]
Iryn's birth mother hadn't aged a day. Of course not. She'd traded Iryn's existence for immortality and eternal youth. "Shouldn't get one without the other, kiddo," she said about the whole deal. "Eternal youth ain't worth shit if you're still going to die from your body giving up. Immortality without eternal youth would get painful after just a couple of decades."
"I already have a demonic lifespan, Charmain," Iryn had been encouraged by all hir parents to call hir birth-mother by her name. "That's measured in eons."
"Do you age?" said Charmain.
Iryn could only shrug. "Dad still looks the same and he's like... old as the world?"
"At least as old as demonic influence," Charmain allowed. "Yeah, okay, fine. If you're ever worried, I know how to game the system. Hey. Have I ever told you about the time I bamboozled a Leprechaun out of his crock of gold, and then used it all to break the banks at Vegas?"
"Three times, Charmain."
"Dang. Okay. Fine. How's your mum?"
"She's still pissed off with you about my O.G. birthday. She's still trying to find a way to curse you about it."
Charmain cackled. "Not my fault she didn't ask about your father. She's going to need the big guns after I rescued that faerie in Scotland."
Iryn could feel the shape of Charmain's history. "You set them up to need a rescue, didn't you?"
"Same way I broke the banks in Reno. The faerie wasn't in big danger, stop looking at me like that." Charmain gestured towards the car. "Are you looking for guys, girls, or something else?"
"Why?" asked Iryn, instantly suspicious.
"I know where there's a few cursed nobles currently under a frog curse. I can hook you up with a luxury lifestyle like that." Charmain snapped her fingers.
"No-o-o thank you," said Iryn. "I don't want the paparazzi trying to find out the colour of my undies."
Charmain blew a raspberry. "Fine. We have one weekend thanks to the court order. What kind'a mayhem are you looking to get away with?"
"We-e-ellll..." said Iryn. "Mum doesn't want me to watch Wicked?"
"Understandable," said Charmain. "Let's go break some rules."
