[AN: The WHOLE adventuring party so far is: Wraithvine, Amatu, Pondermore, Vee, and Rawr. Our little thief makes six. That's a pretty full adventuring party. Therefore, Tiefling has to be a recurring NPC. It's usually a FIVE man band for a reason]
"Posies, Daisies, lu-u-ucky Heather," sang another street denizen with a tray display. "Boutonnieres, bouquets, in a-a-any weather."
Wraithvine, spinning several plates at once, paid the young Tiefling no mind. Ze was already busy trying to explain that they wanted the snake in the cage, not the Ogre, the Bugbear, or the well-dressed young gentleman with horns. This involved showing each and every one of them the warrant in question.
Vee was doing her best to pretend everything was normal whilst Rawr was giving the street vendor some funny looks. "Something wrong, Uncle?"
"I don't know. She looks weird."
Vee, who had small draconic wings sprouting from her back, gave him a Look. "We're traveling with Amatu and you're talking to me and you think she looks weird. She's a perfectly normal Tiefling, leave her alone."
"Buy a posy for your lovely?" offered the vendor. "Play it smart for lightly pay?"
Pondermore rumbled, "We're helpin' the both of you. Stick close."
"Wait," said Amatu. "What?"
"Weaves hand," said Pondermore. "Flower girl trying to help friend."
Wraithvine was having a headache. "I did not need this, I did not need this..."
"You did not need this," chirped Vee unhelpfully[1]. "Tell you what, Miss Tiefling, if you wait we unload this wanted criminal to the City Watch, we can talk about a big arrangement for a wedding."
This earned a look of shock in her chrysoprase-hued eyes. Her lips said, "How the fuck--" and then she recovered herself. "Could use something on my fork," she allowed, hopping up on the cart. "Care to examine my wares?"
It was half an hour of pretending to be fascinated by dried weeds.
When Wraithvine finally noticed, ze said, "We're going to need a bigger inn." Ze took over steering and got the cart somewhere well away from the watch house. Where the little thief popped out of the debris and seized Vee's arm.
"How the hell do so many feebs know Thieves Cant?"
"You picked the wrong feebs," laughed Vee. "Let me tell you about my Gram'ma."
