I have a brother, he just so happen to have a girlfriend. Honestly they’re a lovely couple the girlfriend get along with the family. My brother with his gf are very, “intimate”. I play a beautiful instrument known as the saxophone. This night they learn that walls are thin in this house, if they can hear me, they better connect the dots and realize I can hear them.
the music I’m gonna was play -- Anon Guest
[AN: The music is Careless Whisper BTW]
Humans have a saying: Thin walls make terrible neighbours. You won't know how true it is until you're facing against a noisy neighbour. It's infinitely worse when you and the neighbour have differing sleep schedules.
Mine was a fan of "Cryin'" Joe Bardnaw. Specifically, the one song that every ship everywhere used as part of their distress signal. Many lives may have been saved by The Indian Love Call but this one was inspiring me towards murder.
Pro tip. Never plan a working holiday that goes through Deregger space. Those places are black holes in which you need help from the CRC in order to escape. I sent a coded message off yesterday. With luck, agents will be able to rescue me inside of two weeks. I hope it's two weeks. I don't think I can make it if it's any longer.
It's worse than you might think. The reason why my neighbour keeps playing that one flakking song is that they have gone through a terrible breakup. I know, because they keep wailing about Jess and why did she have to leave him.
There's about a daily hour of shouting at prettier dudes who come from outside to steal your property. Gross. No wonder she left. On top of that was the howling that he should have kept the receipt so he could get legal help to get her back. Double gross.
I'd go talk to that guy about being a better person, but I'm the exact kind of outsider that this dude would kill on sight. I don't know about you, but I'd rather survive this gravity well.
Revenge is fun to dream about, like blasting some of my wake-up music through the cardboard wall we share. That, on this station, would get me killed. Never do anything to piss off someone who can literally tear through the walls to get to you. The same applies to someone with a lot of anger to work out.
I just gotta focus on surviving, and that's what I keep telling myself every time the anxiety of being trapped in Deregger space. It's kind of hard to do that when you're running on spit and determination. And possibly a maximum of two hours' sleep per Standard day.
I don't count the minutes any more. I think I'm going insane.
I'm starting to believe that feeding my neighbour some hints and tips while he sleeps is a good idea. Talking to myself is one thing. Going through an educational lecture as my InstaMeal warms up in the budget heating unit before I crash for whatever sleep I can grab between replays of Indian Love Call and wailing or gnashing of teeth.
Honestly, I'm beyond knowing if I'm making any sense at all. I know I ramble between topics when I'm talking to myself. The talking is what helps me stay awake long enough to eat. I think I've covered things like love language, and the importance of showing people you care. How to pack-bond. How to respect other's limits. That sort of stuff. All relationship stuff. Including how it's a bad idea to claim ownership of another without first being willing to surrender ownership of oneself to that other.
I dunno. I'm pretty out of it by dinner time.
All I know is that... I think I'm sleeping longer. My neighbour's yelling about Jess less. Maybe. Maybe I'm sleeping through it better because of sheer exhaustion.
I've got my lifecorder taking records, just in case something bad happens to me. They're beaming to my case file with the CRC.
I'll review them when I've finally got enough energy or sleep.
Good night.
