The strength of the team is each member, the strength of each member is the team -- Anon Guest
Humans have so many sayings about their pack action. There is no I in Team. Teamwork makes the dream work. We stand together or we fall apart. If you needed any further proof that Humans are pack animals, there you go. It's coded into their daily axioms.
It comes to the fore when they work together as teams. They come to know each other's strengths, and bolster each other's weaknesses with them. They seem to have a group mind when they work together.
Slor had to ask them how they did that. Certainly, there were advantages to pack-bonding, but that was not what Slor wanted to know. That was why he waited for the Human Pack-bonding game to come to a close. As far as Slor could divine, it was Symbolically Kill The Other Team By Moving A Projectile Into A Specific Area.
When the game was done, Slor approached the pack leader and said, "I would like to know more about Human Pack-bonding."
"Having trouble making friends?" guessed Human Neil.
"No, I just... how are you sure it works? Even with new pack-mates?"
Human Neil laughed. "The strength of the team is each member, but the strength of each member is the team."
"Is that another Human pack-bonding axiom?"
"It could be, but it's also true. When people act together, they're always stronger than the individual. Did I show you with the sticks or was it someone else?"
The sight of a Human casually breaking apart sticks no thicker than Slor's bones would stick with him forever, living in his nightmares eternally. "Oh, I remember that."
"The group together can't break, right?"
That was not the lesson Slor had absorbed, but he also feared a repeat performance. "Yes."
"Similarly, a group acting towards a common goal can do more much quicker than the one. We help each other. It's the way everything works."
