Sparrow is thinking: "Did Insane just call me a birdy bird? I am going to kill..."

Alrighty then!

Welcome to my fails or my best photos of birds in my balcony. We have sparrows, Great Tits, Blue Tits and Pigeons. Unfortunately, although the Blue Tits were usually very brave and always one of the first ones to check out what new food I have for the birdie birds, they were a bit scared of my camera. So you just have to trust me on the fact that a Blue Tit is a regular visitor in my balcony. Also this post has no pigeons in it because they were too still so I always got excellently sharp photos of them staring right back at me, no fun it that. They were probably just plotting and thinking on how to get in from my balcony door and I don't blame them since it's been about -10°C out there and few days it was even -17°C and it was also really windy so it probably felt like -27°C. So the temperature difference is about 30 to 40°C although my cats think it's too cold inside as it's not summer and scorching hot.

All the photos are taken inside so the window is between my camera and the birds. Triple glass window, about three hours enough light for photographing what's happening in my balcony that is facing east and light completely gone about 4 to 5 hours after sunrise. A lot of obstacles.

And my oh my the birds are fast in their moves.

But sparrows are fun! First they are really cute and then they completely change in to a bickering bastards that peck each other and I can hear some of them yell that this balcony is too small, it isn't big enough. It's about 1,5 meters times 6 meters but I guess it's not big enough for some sparrows.

See the frost on the window. -17°C and I would like to take every freaking, pooping little bird to my home and let them drink warm berry juice and eat warmed peanuts and seeds with me if I only didn't have cats. So cold!

But fortunately they like the greasy seed balls I've hung out for them.

And you know, sometimes the photos that I think are fails, turn out to be pretty cool like this one. I like the wings, thinking of minting it. Wouldn't it be a great NFT photo? No? You bastard, who asked you. Oh alright, I won't mint it.

There's the Blue Tit! Blue Tit, Blue Tit, Blue Tit, Blue Tit, Blue Tit! There's blue and there's a tit, so it has to be Blue Tit.

I actually do have better photos of this little bird but I'll post it later because this is about the fails.

I know I wrote that there are Blue Tits (plural) in my balcony, but I actually think that there's only one. I've seen only one at a time and although I do not posses the capability to recognize individual birds, I mean I barely recognize different species from each other, I think that the Blue Tit I've seen in my balcony is the same bird every time. It looks at me the same way every time. It's eyes look like Thor would look at me so I'm naming it Thor.

Then there's the Great Tits. At first I thought that there was only three individuals but I once saw four at the same time, when it was really cold and I was so ecstatic about that fact that you could have taken that enthusiasm and warm a small city with it. Or a house. In the winter.

Anyway, the Great Tits are also really hard to photograph. They are not as camera shy as the Blue Tit but much more scared of it than the Sparrows.

Or perhaps this is the shape that the Great Tits are. Tubular. Unsharp.

Constantly moving.

Sparrows. So cuddly. I don't care if they plot to kill me. When you're cute you get away with murder. Just like humans. If you're ugly everyone always suspects that you are bad and a liar and a serial killer but if you're beautiful and sexy and young and even if people find out that you actually are a serial killer, people just shrug their shoulders and think that it's not that bad and hope the beautiful killer killed only ugly people because that's okay then.

This could be a good photo to mint too. But okay, you've made your point, I won't mint it. Not even as an art photo. It's not actually that good.

Do you want to know how many birds asses I've captured? I mean photographed. When I started sorting my bird photos that I've taken over the last two weeks there was 6660 photos so that's a lot of "oops, no bird there anymore, just a stick" and those bird asses photos. I managed to reduce the amount of photos to 1500 but as you can see, there's still really weird ones too that I kinda like even though the photos aren't that good.

I'm tagging fermentedphil@fermentedphil here because he had photos of birds from different angle and I think he perhaps would appreciate my fails or are these fails photos. Clearly these are fails but tagging him anyway. :)

One thing the the small birds did often was that they didn't even bother to open their wings right away when they left my balcony. They just jumped and what I can tell when watching them do the same thing from the opposite balconies one or two storeys up from me, they open their wings after falling one or two, sometimes even three storeys which in my opinion is horrifying! They really do trust that their wings will wan to open and co-operate with their brain that just told their legs to jump of the balcony.

I mean if I have my phone in my hands and I walk over a bridge, I always hold the phone much tighter or better yet put it in to my pocket to prevent the unfortunate thing happening that I my hands just decide to throw the phone over the railing. I really do not trust my hands when crossing a bridge so if I was a bird I would always, always, always open my wings first and take air under my wings and then tell my feet to help me fly and jump.

Some crazy birdie birds.

I have to say though, birds brains seem to function much better than mine because I have not yet seen any birds squished on the asphalt below my balcony. No fallen birds here.

Aaaaaand I also have to say that my hands have no yet thrown any phone, mine or someone elses, over any railing when crossing a bridge. But just saying, if we should ever meet and we walk out there together and walk on a bridge, hide your phone from my hands.
