So this event is at its end and what a great way to end it. Fried rice is probably the most well-known food to come out of China and for good reason. It tastes awesome!
But there's also a little lore to it. The easiest shoutout is who they had name it. Amber is actually mixed ethnicity. Her grandfather came from Liyue. This feels like a shoutout to all the overseas Chinese out in the world who can get a taste of home any time they go for some fried rice.
The bigger shoutout though is related to this Chinese youtuber Accented Cinema. Once upon a time he made a video about Chinese food culture and its portrayal in film. In one of the movies he brought up, the main character was trying to perfect this exact dish; based on the description in-game it's a specific kind of fried rice where the egg is evenly mixed into the rice such that each grain is coated in a thin layer of egg, giving it a golden color. As Accented Cinema described it it was a very simple dish but to get the even coating takes tons of practice and that's actually the central plot of the film. Most of his video pointed out a theme of humility and dedication which both fit with the theme of the event and also the core characteristics of the cameo characters. Amber, Eula and Mika are all leading members of the Knights of Favonius and Amber specifically even strives to be the best at her job which sounds very simple on paper.
