For a first post I thought I would share a couple sketches from Shanghai. I’m not a good artist, but I do have moments where I catch something interesting, and hopefully you’ll see something too.
If you are like me you find there is a lot of information and feeling you catch from pen and ink. Here I used a brush pen for buildings on Shanxi Lu (陕西路) and Julu Lu (巨鹿路). Sketching is one of my favorite activities, and Shanghai is a dream come true for artists. The old and new come together in millions of combinations here, and there is always a coffeeshop or diner to spread your sketchbook in.
