Hello everyone in this lovely Needle work Community
Hope you're all having a lovely Monday and a new week too
It's another week again and a special day to show case our needleworks.
Today, i want to share with you the steps i used in making this lovely shorts for myself

I've been really into making skirts and gowns but have never tried making a short. At my work place , we have weekly tasks to deliver and for last week we were asked to make a short and we were also guided on the steps and guidelines on how to make the shorts .
I used a bridal satin to make this short, although when i got it my colleagues were saying it wont be nice and to prove them wrong, i took my time while making the short so that it will come out perfectly well but as expected, it stressed me a lot
Let me share with you the steps i used in making it

First step was to take my measurements and the measurements used to sew shorts are as follows

  • Full length
  • Hips measurements
  • Laps measurements
  • Waist measurement

I folded my material into two and started working on the front
I marked my waist measurement into four on the material, my laps measurements, my hips and also my length measurement on the material. And still for that front, i cut out 2 by 7 inches so that i can attach my pocket

Since the back side of the trouser is always bigger, i placed the front side on the material and added extra 3 inches and cut out to get the back side

After then i slit the front and the back side which made it two for each side . I then picked up my front side and joined the flab together to arrive at this

I also picked up the back side and joined the flab too to create this look

After joining both flabs , i then moved on to cutting out my pocket, i measured 7 by 9 inches and cut it out and then for the side that had 9 inches, i cut out 2 buy 7 inches so that it can fit into the space i had created in the front part of the shorts

I picked the pocket and attached it to the front of the Short and made it fit it into the 2 by 7 inches i had cut out

After here, I picked both parts of the shorts and joined them together and then used another material to bend the lower part of the short .
After bending i joined the laps together and to get a final look , i joined my waist band and finalized with adding a zip and the was the final look of the shorts

Sewing a shorts at first trial wasn't so easy, i did a lot of loosing and sewing over and over again but thank God i finally got to the finished point, i hope to do better in my second trail
Thank you so much everyone for going through my post, i really hope you all have a lovely weekend ahead
Byeee everyone
