INTRODUCTION
The greatest English word you will ever find in the dictionary is 'LOVE' . You may wonder why I made this statement but if you are conversant with God's word, you will agree with me that the word **love** equates to God. God is the greatest.As the greatest word in the dictionary, great things are supposed to accompany romantic relationships formed from love but that doesn't happen in our world today. Just few romantic relationships are bounded by love, others are for selfish reasons.
To get a glimpse of what love is you can read first Corinthians 13:1 - 8.
1: Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. 2: And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. 3: And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. 4: Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
5: Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; 6: Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; 7: Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. 8: Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away
Aside this, I wish to share with you my understanding of this great word and how a romantic relationship should be.
AN EXPOSITION TO LOVE.
Before I shed light on the subject matter above, let me state a brief meaning of love.
Love is a feeling of attraction towards a person that makes you want to treat him/her special, just like you treat yourself. It is an action word, not to be expressed in words but to be shown in deeds.
Every human lives to love himself/herself better than anyone else. This makes many of us go the extra mile to be be the best we can be to ourselves. You will never see yourself loving another more than the way you love yourself. No matter how spiritual you get, it's difficult to say, you love God more than you love you. Even when one does something bad, because of love for oneself, one cannot hurt oneself. One is kind, patient, hopeful, not easily provoked, and enduring towards oneself. So we can say that the true meaning of love is fulfilled in oneself than any other human.
THE WAY LOVE SHOULD BE IN DATING RELATIONSHIPS AND MARRIAGES.
Love is majorly confessed to the opposite sex, in relationships and marriages. But when you look very well, you will see that most of these relationships are not bounded by love. It is not difficult to know, just watch the behavior of these people and you can tell whether they are in love or not.
For every serious romantic relationship intended for marriage, bear in mind that the person you date today will become one with you. And for every standing marriage, know that you are one. God made it so. It may sound difficult to practice what I am about to share, notwithstanding, love in dating relationships and marriages should take the form of the love each of the partners have for oneself. This way, it would be easier to show love to someone one claims to love.
What am I saying in essence, there is no time you will scold yourself for doing wrong. Never scold your partner if he/she does something wrong.
There is no time you would lay hands on yourself for doing something wrong. Never hit your partner because she did something wrong.
There is no time you would say abusive words to yourself for wrongdoing. Never you abuse your partner for wrong doing.
No matter the physique you carry, you always appreciate your body. Never use your partners physique against them.
There is not time you would quarrel yourself and keep malice with yourself for your wrongdoing. Never quarrel your partner or keep malice for your partners wrongdoing.
You see that the list is endless. I can go on and on but I won't mention everything. This idea is based on the fact that you will or have become one with your partner. If partners in relationships will see the other same way he/she sees herself, love will easily be expressed.
This is an uncommon secret of a long lasting dating and marriage relationships.
Let's go the extra mile we go for our individual self in our love affairs and see how blossomly beautiful love is.
