Before you see how harmful stress can be in our body, I invite you to watch this short video of just one minute and 13 seconds entitled "Calm down in seconds".

We have seen that stress is necessary for the survival of animals but is it beneficial for human beings? I think no. We do not have to worry because a bear can attack us.

Stress causes a few problems in the performance of our daily occupations. The stressed person becomes a burned person and the effects of stress can affect their health (whether physiological or psychic). In addition, the stressed person often resort to drinking, smoking or tranquilizers to get a temporary relief from stress.

Stressed people are often very busy people who do not have time to exercise or eat properly. They reduce the number of hours they spend sleeping and have excessive worries that cause them to sleep badly. They do not even have time to go see the doctor or the dentist when they need it.

The link between stress and heart disease is well established. When stress is intense, heart rate and blood pressure increase. The walls of the arteries are damaged and then heal. The result is that the arteries swell and the supply of oxygen and blood to the heart is reduced.

Stress has also been seen to cause damage to the immune system, which explains why we get more colds when we are stressed.

Stress can intensify the symptoms of diseases that have an autoimmune component, such as rheumatoid arthritis. It also seems to affect the headaches and irritable bowel syndrome.
