Like most artists i think about what i'm going to make before i make it. How it will make someone feel. The vibe I wanted. The colors or lack there of. If i wanted to sell it and a thousands of other options before I put pen to paper.
I've been doing art full time for three years now living only off art money. Making originals, prints, murals, stickers and more. I'm 25 years old now and have been living the time of my life. Living a rare life of living my dream. I know I have a lot more knowledge than most people my age when it comes to surviving off your dreams, business, and art.
During these last few months (after I finished one of my biggest projects that took two years) I have been focusing on more "intuitive" art. Some would say expressionist art but i'm not the best on art theory/ history. I have been focusing on having fun every time I put my pen on paper. There would be no point in making art and living off of it if you do not TRULY enjoy and love it. You don't want to feel like you're going to work because this isn't really one of the highest paying fields (unless you're creative/ innovative.) After these last few months i have been having the time of my life and way more fun.
The point of this post to any of my artist followers is do not stop focusing on what you want to do just because something else or another style sells more. Make sure you are putting out stuff that you really fall in love with.
