Hi, guys!
So, I'm continuing to work on the book. Yesterday, I cleaned up another character's backstory, and it turned out beautifully and organically. The beta was thrilled. I don't know why they like broken characters so much, but I broke mine so thoroughly, and it turned out beautifully and terrifyingly. So now I have a powerful antagonist in the text, and I can admire him.
Today, I want to clean up one more scene; I don't know where I'll go from here yet. But in general, I really need to thoroughly develop the character system, because there are an unrealistically large number of them, and it all needs to be brought to a common denominator, because there's so much going on. A catastrophically large amount. And it will grow in all directions, and soon I'll start to dabble in my own world; in fact, I already am.
So, I need to somehow get it all under control.
I don't know yet how I'm going to do this, but I have to, because the world is so vibrant and pulsating that it's just a mess; it needs a firm hand. So I need to try to systematize it somehow. Of course, my lore file alone is 400,000 characters long and growing rapidly.
And it's all really written down. One of my characters is an assassin, and I have a dictionary of how exactly he gives gesture commands to his assassins. It was really fun compiling it, and then I need to compose another one. I absolutely love developing characters.
So now I'm off to quickly edit a commercial, and after that, I'll edit a new scene.
Have a great day, everyone!
