GUMETA update: Underdog format now available!

Hi All,

I just released a new update for gumeta.web.app, introducing the Underdog format to the available modes! The challenge with new formats is that I don’t know their IDs in advance so I have to do some manual work. However, once the formats are active again (next up are DO and Gen), all you’ll need to do is select the format from the dropdown menu.

How to Play the Underdog Format in Gods Unchained?

I noticed a few people struggling with this on Discord, so let’s go through it quickly. You don’t need to memorize all the banned cards!
All banned cards will be automatically missing from your collection. This applies to all other format modes too, so you can easily build decks without worrying about restrictions.

In the Gods Unchained client:

1. Click on the Underdog format.
2. Create a new deck.
3. Play : )

Underdog Meta: First Impressions

I’ve only played 10 games so far, but I was pleasantly surprised by the meta diversity. Every game felt different and challenging. Even when facing lower-ranked players, I struggled or lost at times, but it was a fun and fresh experience overall!

Every god has at least one playable archetype and they can be built in many creative ways. BUT:

• Light stands out as the strongest god, offering a solid early game and an even better late game.
• Nature Mutations are quite popular with strong late game, but this archetype struggles with its early game.

My Deck

I managed to secure 5 wins, and I’m happy with the results! Even though I dropped from Mythic rank, it was a fun experience. I’ll definitely continue playing Underdog throughout this week.

Shiny Meta Strategy

Interestingly, my 5 wins in Diamond rank earned me more than my usual 5 wins in Mythic with 23 diamonds! How? Here’s the trick:

• I rented some super cheap Diamond cards and completed my deck with 27 Diamond cards.
• Each format mode has a 1.2x–1.5x fragments DPE modifier, so building decks with shiny cards really pays off.
• Be quick to grab cheap cards from Lootrush, as players rent heavily during format mode weeks.
