relic is defined as an antique kept for sentimental reasons.
In the religious context, a relic usually refers to the physical remains of a saint that is referred and believed to have supernatural effects while
religion is defined as the belief in and worship of a supernatural being. e. g. A personal god. It was also defined as any practice that someone or some group is seriously devoted to.

Francisco Forgione, born on May 25,1887 had a desire to become a clergyman. From a young age, he was able to see angels but told no one because he taught it was natural and other people saw angels too. His parents weren't well to do and Francisco had a poor health background. The desire to be a clergyman was so endearing however he wasn't graced financially or health wise, but his parents cared about him and his dream.

He got a private tutor which his father paid for by travelling to America to work. Francisco turned his to Pio @ the age of 15 in honor of Pope Pius I. By this time he started to undergo training @ Capuchin Friars.In 1910, Pio became a priest during those years, he fell sick subsequently which restricted him from most duties. He was like an off and on switch.
On time, he was said to have been seen levitating during prayers. Maybe true, maybe not.
Papa Pio experienced the STIGMATA(pains related to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ,in this context the holes on Jesus Christ hands and legs).News spread roundabout his story. He became very popular that the church had to reduce his activities, they carefully examined his story to be sure he hadn't cooked up a story. He used his fame to open a hospital in 1956.

Saint Pio,Patron saint of adolescents and civil defense died on September 23,1968.
Using the relic in my part of the world:
I'm not trying to be religious, but in the Bible, the saints had authority/power that by mere touching them resulted in miracles. It doesn't mean that these relics should be sold at an overrated price. People love to hear these stories of good people but the Supernatural being behind it should be referenced.
