I want to introduce my neighborhood. Haskoy and Fener, Balat and Ayvansaray have a contrast
of different graphics and residential characteristics. From the 1950s to the 1980s this entire area was the main industrial complex of Istanbul. It hosted industrial factories, iron, steel and lathe workshops, textiles, leather and press industries, as well as the main shipyard of Istanbul. During the 1960s and 1970s, migrants mainly from the Black Sea region created village-like neighborhoods and lived in the area. Eventually, most of the districts encircling the Golden Horn became working-class neighborhoods filled with families employed by local companies and factories.
