Right from time I had been a person that doesn't like been idle, I have always wanted to get my hands busy, I believe this way poverty won't come my way.
As an hustler I have done a lot of petty jobs just to get something into my pocket, it all started when I gained admission, probably my second year in the varsity when an indefinite strike fell in.

I thought staying in school and getting a job till the strike ends but later thought about other negative things attached to it, that period students will be scanty in school and this will attract arm robbers.

I left school and came come to look for job atleast to get something doing, my mum was not in for it, she asked me to better rest for that period till we resume but I turned a deaf ear.
I tried some schools near to my house but I couldn't get a better one, the ones I get, the salary was too low for my standard so I decided to continue the hunt.

Weeks after weeks I was still at home looking for job, until I called my dad in lagos to get one for me even if I can see at his place of work, he works as an iron bender and site supervisor in one engineering company in lagos, I thought it would be easy for him to get me one, but found out there was no vacancy for my level, it was only labour work that was available, he asked me to think about it and give him feedback.

I have to think about it after some days which I later had to accept because I do not want to be idle at home even when I heard the pay was good, my income at the end of the month is thrice that of my salary as a teacher which left me with no choice than to accept it.

I travelled to meet him there which I started the work immediately, my duty actually was to do some sundry work, stuffs like cleaning the site, logistics and the likes. When I got there I get to realize we were three (3) that applied for the same role, one was there before me and the second guy resumed the second day I started.

The first day wasn't day wasn't really stressful for me, let me even say the first week, the site engineer was linient with me, he gave me lesser and less stressful work to do maybe because he was friend with my father, but after a while (maybe two weeks) the engineer and my dad was transferred to another site which made the junior site engineer took over.

This was where the story began, this man made me get fed up of the work, he would load me with bulky works to do within few hours, this was not only me but with the three of us, he would ask us to do work which are not meant for us, but my I had to endure just to get what I wanted.

I never told my dad this because he would ask me to quit with immediate effect, I continued this for more than a month but unlucky for me the strike was called off after a month and few days I started the work, I had to quit and go back home to prepare for school.

LESSON I LEARNT

When I started working there I realized we should value the little our parents or anyone gives us, until we start working we would know how hard it is to give money out anyhow.

Also people respect you for the benefit they derive from you, people also so you good just for eye service, the junior site engineer was kind to me when my dad was still there but changed afterwards.
